Cantor Leslie Rimer

 

Cantor Leslie Rimer was born in Budapest, Hungary.  At the age of five, he joined the choir of the largest Orthodox synagogue in Budapest.  By the age of seven, he was singing on Hungarian radio.
Cantor Rimer emigrated first to Montreal, Canada and then to the United States.  He is a graduate of the prestigious school of the Cantor’s Association and received a degree in music from the Hartford Conservatory.  Cantor Rimer has sung throughout Europe as well as in the United States and Israel.  Cantor Rimer has been the Cantor of Madison Jewish Center for over thirty years.

Canrtor Rimer was one of the lead members of a delegation of Cantors who went to Rome, where they joined the largest group of world Jewish Leaders in a meeting with Pope John Paul II.  During this meeting the Cantors sang a blessing for the Pope.

Cantor Rimer is a founding member of the well known singing group, “The Three Cantors”.
